Outdoor Education Instructor – 39hrs P/W

1-Year Fixed Term Contract

The Cavan Centre provides a residential resource to promote Youth & Community Work based on a Community Development process through the medium of Education, Experiential Learning and Personal Development, primarily for disadvantaged and marginalised groups from the North Inner City of Dublin.

Professional Qualification and Experience (E=Essential D=Desirable)

• Instructor/ Leadership qualifications in at least two of the following: Kayaking, High Ropes, Rock-climbing, Paddle boards, & Archery. (E)
• Candidates who have two seasons experience working in an Outdoor Education or a commercial Adventure Centre. (E)
• A current Rescue Emergency Care First Aid qualification. (E)
• A full Drivers Licence. (E)
• A QQI or Third level qualification in Outdoor Education or a related area. (D)
• Skills and experience in related areas such as, Hillwalking, Environmental Education, Arts & Crafts, Team Challenges etc. (D)
• A D1 or ED1 minibus licence. (D)
• An understanding of Youth Work and Community Work methodologies. (D)
