Background
Dublin Northwest Partnership (DNP) is a Local Development Company based in the North West of Dublin, in pursuing its social purpose, Dublin Northwest Partnership implements several significant programmes, funded by the Irish Government and the European Union, including the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP), the Local Area Employment Service (LAES), Tús Community Work Placement Programme and the Empowering Communities Programme (ECP). DNP also works with over 90 Local Community Groups and Social Enterprises and where needed, DNP provides technical support in the guise of HR, Governance, Practice and Financial mentoring to further enable these organisations to survive and thrive. In addition, Dublin Northwest Partnership provides access to a range of Health Service Executive (HSE) activities including Healthy Food Made Easy, Social Prescribing, Smoking Cessation and Community Food & Nutrition programmes.
Community Development and Education & Wellness staff
Our Community Development and Education & Wellness teams work with local community-based organisations and social enterprises. Supports and services to these groups include the following:
- One-to-one meetings to identify areas of your work where Dublin Northwest Partnership can help
- Networking opportunities and connections with relevant local, regional and national organisations
- Mentoring in key areas, identified by local community groups and social enterprises
- Technical support in areas such as grant-writing, planning and strategic development
- Supports to voluntary boards or management committees in identifying skills needed, recruiting new members, succession planning and induction and training of new board/committee members
- Research and Analysis
- Yoga
- Mindfulness & Meditation
- Fitness Programmes
- Gardening & Horticulture
Enterprise
Self-employment offers long term unemployed people a pathway to economic independence and social inclusion in the absence of employment opportunities. Self-employment impacts positively on the community by creating employment and as the venture expands, the possibility of creating further employment for those in the community. The current self-employment supports offered to our participants aims to promote inclusion, and we work with individuals on any challenges or skills gaps they may currently have and to start their own businesses. We provide group training workshops, one-to-one support and guidance to those participants. This support continues for the first two years following start-up of business.
Local Area Employment Services (LAES)
DNP Local Area Employment Services (LAES) works with people experiencing unemployment with a particular focus on those experiencing long term unemployment in the Dublin Northwest Partnership catchment area to help them to become job ready. As many of our participants are very distant from the labour market, LAES aim to provide necessary pre-employment training and coaching support for participants who may have lost confidence in their abilities, lost motivation or are needing guidance about a career direction. We also offer training and support in job searching, creating CVs and interview preparation. LAES provide both group training and individual support.
This varied expertise for Community Development, Local Area Employment Services and self-employment is not always available to individuals therefore, the Dublin Northwest Partnership is committed to building a panel of professional specialists in these areas to support others to positively develop. We are therefore seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced mentors/trainers/facilitators.

The role
- As a mentor/trainer/facilitator, Dublin Northwest Partnership would engage your expertise for a defined period of time or a number of sessions.
- During these sessions, the mentor/trainer/facilitator would work directly with Community groups, Social Enterprises and individual participants who are based in the Dublin Northwest Partnership catchment area on a defined work package providing mentoring and support on one or multiple of the key skills listed.
- As required, and agreed in principle, deliver some mentoring/training during the evening.
Mentors/trainers/facilitators selected from our panel would work as a contractor to the Dublin Northwest Partnership and will adhere to all contractual obligations through a contractor’s agreement.

Please note that, depending on the environment in which work with local groups takes place, members of the panel may be required to undergo Garda Vetting through Dublin Northwest Partnership.
Proof of qualifications will also be required.
Mentors/trainers/facilitators already on our panel need not reapply.
