Deonach (Tallaght Probation Project), founded in 1995, a community based project working with people specifically referred to us by the Probation Service. We work with participants with a focus on training, education and/or employment and the identification of barriers that may hinder progression. The project while respecting innate abilities and life experiences supports the person in addressing their offending behaviour; reduce the frequency and gravity of their offending behaviour and transitions towards safe successful lives in their communities. Deonach (TPP) has established a reputation for delivering innovative and creative processes and is now looking to fill a position with a person of leadership, vision and drive to join The Education Team.

Deonach aims to provide a comprehensive programme supporting, therapeutic, case management formal and Informal Education, Arts and Cultural Processes & Sports and Recreational Activities – which are designed to meet the individual needs of people aged 16- 25 years and adult 25 plus.

The Project invites applications for the following Part Time position 21 hours

Project Worker – Women’s & Family Support Worker

(6 Month Contract – Covering Sick Leave)

The ideal candidate will have a real commitment to the ethos and values of the project and fit one of the following three profile requirements:

Have worked with women for 3 years full time and have experience of working with women at risk in a community/homelessness/addiction/mental health/criminal justice setting in a paid capacity and have an equivalent professional Degree level qualification within the Education/Social Sciences/Youth Work or Community Work field. E

Strong conviction about, and commitment to, working with people in social justice/social care/community-youth work theory and practice. Working to build strong relationship and human connections that are person centred, creative and flexible. 

In addition to the above the candidate will need to demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of case management and key working with women who have offending behaviour; have a proven track record of relevant experience in delivering creative and innovative programmes in formal and non-formal educational and developmental contexts; possess a range of practical skills and attributes suited to the particular needs and challenges of Women’s and Family Support (Tallaght Probation Project) as it currently operates.
