An Siol Community Development Partnership are a registered Charity with officers in Manor St and Cabra Dublin 7.

We are a grassroots community development project working with people in the Dublin 7 area.

We offer a wide range of community services and supports to people and communities within our catchment area.

Our services are funded through the HSE, Pobal (SICAP program) CDSB and DCC. We are also a member of the Dublin City Community Co Op and operate under the principles of community development.

This position is funded through the CDSB, UBU (Your Place, Your Space) program and is based in our Manor St office, delivering after school’s clubs and tuition services to young people.

Project Leader, Child and Youth Department

Role: Project Lead, Child and Youth Department

Location: An Síol CDP, 19 Manot Street, Stoneybatter, Dublin 7.

Reports to: CEO

Hours: 35 hours per week. Some out of hours work required.

Salary: €34,000 to €36,720.

Contract Term: Permanent

This role is a fantastic opportunity for a committed individual to have a significant impact on the lives of young people in the North Inner City. An Síol aims to create an environment where all people are respected and can thrive. This is achieved through a range of clubs and activities aimed at some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

In this role you will have the chance to create and deliver afterschool programs, educational support and trips for young people. You will oversee finding new and exciting ways to engage young people and help them develop towards their full potential.

This is a management role and requires report writing, budgetary management and proven funding application experience. Good communication skills are a key part of the role as the suitable candidate needs to develop local links, build interagency synergy, build and maintaining relationships with funders are a key component of the position.

Key Duties:

  • Planning and running homework clubs and organising a one-to-one volunteer tuition service.
  • Managing part-time and sessional staff and a team of volunteers.
  • Budget and manage finance of Child and Youth Department.
  • Holding responsibility of Child Protection Officer within An Síol.
  • Representing An Siol on relevant local educational committees and liaising with relevant agencies.

Role Requirements:

  • Some flexibility with hours required (evenings)

This post is funded by the UBU CDYS fund on behalf of the Department of Children, Education, Disability, Integration and Youth.

Qualifications:

  • Qualification in Social Care/ Community Work or a related area of study. Minimum Level 7 or relevant experience in the sector.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-year experience working with young people.
  • Experience with Child Protection policies and procedures.
  • Experience working with marginalised communities.
  • Understanding the principles of community development.
  • Proven experience of budgetary management.
  • Excellent fluency in English language (essential).
