Salary: Social Care Manager 01/03/23 salary scale €62,414 - €71,418

Kilkenny Rape Crisis Centre KASA works for the protection of all of society, regardless of gender or sexual orientation from all forms of sexual violence and abuse. It primarily supports anyone impacted by any kind of sexual inappropriateness and sexual violence through free, confidential, and non-judgmental information, support and counselling. Our service delivery includes professional counselling, advice and support through our helpline for survivors and supporters, Garda and court accompaniment and educational talks and workshops.

Overall Purpose of Role:

The Centre Manager will be responsible for delivering on the vision, mission and strategic plan of the organisation 2025-2028. At operational level the Centre Manager will manage service delivery including the management of staff, financial management and regulatory compliance. The Centre Manager is committed to quality assurance processes and service improvement, demonstrating a service user focused approach. The Centre Manager will also oversee the development and implementation of the organisation’s programmes and services on behalf of the Board.

Principal duties and Responsibilities:

Management/Administration

  • Manage the implementation, monitoring, and review of KASA Strategic Plan 2025-2028.
  • Manage the administration and day-to-day operations of the service in line with roles, responsibilities and guidelines.
  • Ensure decisions made at Board and operational meetings are implemented.
  • Overall responsibility for human resources management.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to staff.
  • Ensures that members of have access to training and development and overall performance management.

Communication/ Relationship Building

  • Promote the aims and objectives of KASA at local, regional and national level.
  • Initiates, develops and maintains collaborative relationships with key agencies and funders.
  • Represent KASA on relevant committees.
  • Spokesperson for KASA, including production of press releases and participation in media interviews as appropriate.
  • Engages with CUAN and the Dept of Justice in line with the requirements of the role.
  • Participates in Network of other Rape Crisis Services.

Financial

  • Oversight responsibility for the financial activities and budgets of the organisation.
  • Manage financial compliance, procurement, and risk management processes.
  • Provide regular financial reporting to the Board and funders.
  • Identify additional funding sources and develop proposals as appropriate to progress the goals and strategic objectives of the organisation.
  • Lead and deliver on the fundraising objectives of the organisation.

Compliance/Quality of Service

  • On behalf of the Board, develop, implement, monitor and review operational policies, processes and systems in areas such as Charities Regulator Governance Code compliance, employment processes, volunteer management, risk management, health and safety, data protection, IT usage, complaints, quality standards, and other policies and procedures as required.
  • Monitor adherence to relevant codes of practice and ethics by counsellors with regard to client work and supervision.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of research, knowledge and policy in the sexual violence sector, particularly in line with the Third National Strategy.
  • Proactively identifying areas for improvement and the development of practical solutions for their implementation
  • Maintain a service user focus in planning service delivery.

Reporting

  • Ensure a good flow of timely and relevant information to the Chairperson and the Board.
  • Produce Service Agreements, Annual Reports and Planning Reports.
