UBU: FULL TIME YOUTH WORKER (35 HOURS)

The Talk About Youth project is a community based youth project in St Andrews Resource Centre, in Pearse street, Dublin 2.
We are inviting suitably qualified persons to apply for the post of full –time youth worker (35 hrs). The post involves the delivery of a range of programmes/projects for and with “at risk” and targeted young people, whilst working to the UBU, Your Place, Your Space scheme.
The youth worker will work within a staff team and will also have a role in supporting volunteers. The post will involve evening work plus some weekend and residential work.
Essential Qualification:
- A Third Level qualification (degree) in Youth Work, Youth and Community Work, Social Care or another relevant degree.
Desirable:
- Have worked with young people for a minimum of 1 year full time in a youth work setting.
Personal Attributes:
- Strong Leadership and communication skills
- Team worker and collaborator
- Creativity and able to work on one’s own initiative
- Organisational, time management, record keeping and report writing skills
- Excellent facilitation, one to one and group work skills
- Empathy and understanding

Salary: Depends on qualifications and experience.
