North Tipperary Development Company (NTDC) is a Local Development Company delivering community, rural, social inclusion, youth, family support and supported employment programmes across North Tipperary.

The Company are recruiting for a panel of qualified counsellors to work across the following services, The Traveller programme, Ascend (Domestic Violence) Service and Roscrea Youth Service (10-17years).

The appropriate candidate for the Traveller Project and Ascend will have:

  • A qualification or post-graduate qualification at Level 8 in counselling, addiction counselling or psychotherapy recognised by one of the following, as appropriate: the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), Addiction Counsellors of Ireland (ACI) or one of the five sections within the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP)
    OR
  • A qualification at Level 7 or higher on the QQI framework in a human science discipline (medical, psychological, social, educational) or hold a qualification at Level 7 or higher in a health and social care profession. Knowledge of domestic abuse and experience of working from a trauma informed approach.
    AND
  • hold a qualification or post-graduate qualification in counselling, addiction counselling or psychotherapy recognised by one of the following, as appropriate: the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), Addiction Counsellors of Ireland (ACI) or one of the five sections within the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP).

The appropriate candidate for the Youth Service will have:

  • A recognised and accredited Level 7 qualification (QQI) (Minimum in Counselling or Psychotherapy)
    AND
  • Demonstrated experience of work with young people in a professional capacity
    OR
  • Attainment (or pre-attainment) of a recognised and accredited Degree or Post-Graduate qualification in counselling or psychotherapy specialising in Child and Adolescent Therapy.
    AND
  • hold a qualification or post-graduate qualification in counselling, addiction counselling or psychotherapy recognised by one of the following, as appropriate: the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), Addiction Counsellors of Ireland (ACI) or one of the five sections within the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP).
    AND
  • Under the accrediting body you are registered with, you are permitted to work with U18 / U16. This also must be stated in your indemnity insurance.

Additional Requirements

  • Garda Vetting required
  • Completion of the Children’s First e-learning programme
  • Valid Professional indemnity insurance
  • Health and Safety statement if operating from own premises
  • Flexible working hours
