is seeking to appoint to our Family Matters Team a
Parenting Support Specialist
(Permanent)
Family Matters -The Area Based Childhood (ABC) Programme
Family Matters is part of the ABC Programme which focuses on improving education, health and wellbeing and social outcomes for children in the Ballyfermot area; increasing the participation and enhancement of parents as the primary carers and educators of their children; supporting them in supporting their children reach their potential. Family Matters is a dynamic interagency, inter-disciplinary response to the needs of children, parents and families. The staff team is composed of Speech and Language Therapists, Early Years, Education worker, Home visitors and Family Support workers.
As part of the Family Matters team, you will
- Coordinate the delivery of the ParentChild+ and Upto2 Programmes
- Delivery of workforce capacity building training to practitioners
- Evidence quality outcomes of Parenting Initiatives in the area.
- Work collaboratively with other agencies in parental engagement and course delivery
The successfully shortlisted candidates will have:
- Knowledge and understanding of children’s 0-6 years developmental milestones
- Experience in working directly with parents and their children aged 0-6 years
- Experience of coordinating and delivering evidence based parenting programmes.
- Excellent administration and IT skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as on own initiative.
- Qualification to at least QQI Level 7 in for example, Education, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Medical or any other relevant field/ or extensive experience in a similar role.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a relevant professional field.
Salary range circa €35K for 28 hours per week - depending on experience.
