Education, Training, Employment, & Enterprise Officer (SICAP)

(35 hours)

The role’s focus is on the delivery of engagement, education & training supports & employment & enterprise supports to people most distanced from education, training, and employment and/or who are from socially excluded communities/groups identified as priorities under Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme 2024 – 2028.

Role overview:

• Development Officer will be required to support the development of engagement strategies that will reach and support the participation of the target groups above in training, education, employment, and enterprise programmes.
• They will also be required to support the development and refinement of a referral process between KLP and other providers in the Education, Training, Employment & Enterprise arena that allow for flows between providers that are visible, understandable, and accessible to people who are unemployed in Co. Kilkenny.
• The Development Officer will be required to develop an Individual Personal Action Plan with each client that will support engagement, the focus of the training experience and ensure progression across the KLP offering and mainstream services and/or the labour market.
• It is expected that in house training programmes will be developed, procured, and delivered to respond to the needs identified across the target groups. The Development Officer will also work to inform the shape, resourcing, and delivery of same.
• Work to support the leveraging of resources – funding and strategic - in to communities & groups and the delivery of projects’/programmes.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of strong sectoral partnerships and the building of collaborations.
• The Development Officer will be required to support the delivery of the Key Performance Indicators attached the Objectives of Goal 2 of the Programme.
• They will be required to manage key client data on to the IRIS (and internal CRM) system, ensuring data quality and contribute to the overall reporting on the programme.

Key Requirements:

• 3rd Level Qualification in Community Development or related field.
• 5 years’ experience working as a Development Officer in the fields of Education, Training, Enterprise, and/or Community Development and in particular Social Inclusion/Equality Work.
• Experience of facilitating, developing, and delivering effective services to people distant from education, training, and employment.
• A proven track record in the delivery of programme related targets.
• Project Management Experience.
• Be able to work collaboratively across teams within an organisation and with partners.
• Be able respond to change in the wider environment as the programme seeks to respond to same.
• An excellent working knowledge of the Local Development, training, education, and employment/enterprise support sectors.
