Part Time Counsellor / Psychotherapist Vacancy (2 Positions)

Kilkenny Rape Crisis Centre KASA provides Counselling and Support services in a safe, confidential, non-judgemental and discreet space for anyone aged over 14 regardless of gender, who have been sexually abused, sexually assaulted, raped, sexually harassed or experienced sexual violence in any other way at any time in their lives.

Kilkenny Rape Crisis Centre KASA provides Support Counselling for non-abusing relatives or friends of Survivors.

We currently have a vacancy for two part-time counsellors/psychotherapists to join our clinical department to provide psychotherapy to victims of sexual violence.

Role 1: 3 full days per week across Monday to Friday (days to be agreed)

Role 2: 2 full days per week across Monday to Friday ( Wednesday 9am-5pm, Thursday 11am-7pm)

Key Responsibilities and Requirements

• Provide counselling sessions to victims of sexual violence.
• Engage in support sessions with victims’ loved ones.
• Consult with clinical team in assessing and engaging referrals.
• Liaise with relevant professionals to support clients where appropriate.
• Attend monthly individual and group supervision.
• Engage in monthly case management.
• Liaise with multi-disciplinary team in contributing to community development, education and prevention programmes.
• Maintaining appropriate records in line with KASA policies and procedures.

Successful candidates must possess:

• An accredited qualification in counselling/psychotherapy, recognised by IACP, IAHIP or equivalent body.
• Experience of working with Survivors of sexual abuse.
• Demonstrable evidence of CPD relevant to the role.
• A flexible approach and ability to handle a varied workload.
• Proof of current Garda Vetting
