Women’s Aid Dundalk CLG, Refuge & Support Service, Supports Women and Children impacted by Domestic Abuse/Coercive Control. It provides a range of pre-crisis, crisis and post-crises services and support to women and children and to the wider community.

Refuge Support Workers x 3
Full-time Posts, 39 hours per week
The post is 39 hours per week excluding lunch breaks, with responsibility for supporting women and children who have experienced domestic abuse/coercive control. The work will involve working as part of a team to provide a range of services to residents, e.g. key working, support planning and advocacy. Women’s Aid Dundalk’s refuge and helpline operates on a 24/7 basis and a 12 hour shift pattern is currently being implemented.
The successful candidate will have:
Essential:
- Third level qualification and/or two years’ experience of working directly with women and children experiencing Domestic Abuse/Coercive Control
- A commitment to professional development.
- Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent IT skills
- Empathetic attitude towards the needs of women and children impacted by domestic abuse/coercive control.
- Experience of working co-operatively with other services and relationship building.
- Experience assessing risk with women and safety planning.
- Commitment to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work on their own, and to seek support and guidance when needed.
- Access to transport and full driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience of Advocating on behalf of women.
