Childcare Assistant

POSITION:

Before and After School Childcare Assistant – immediate start
Part time hours during school days (19 – 30hrs per week) - € 14.04 per hour

DUTIES:

• Maintain a professional standard of childcare at all times
• Walk with children to and from school
• Prepare breakfast and lunches for the children
• Supervise homework with children and assist when required
• Facilitate both indoor and outdoor play
• Work as part of a team, planning children’s learning experiences
• Carry out duties as designated by the childcare manager for both the children and the childcare services rooms, in keeping with good H&S practices and
• To maintain a clean and healthy work environment
• Any other duties as required/designed by the Children Services Manager

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

• Previous experience of working in a formal child setting preferred, but not essential.
• No qualifications required but experience of working with children is a must. Experience can take the shape of an informal or formal setting, once it can be validated.
• For quality standards we encourage all staff to work towards a min. level 5 qualification.
• Be an excellent team player and knowledge of developmental play with children, a must.
• Excellent communication and people skills is highly desirable.
• Be a continuous improvement and upskilling advocate and supported at all times

Subject to Garda vetting, reference checks and other BCYC requirements.
