Invitation to Tender: Game Changer Programme Evaluation

Game Changer is a three-year programme that seeks to harness the positive influence of the Gaelic Games in Irish communities to challenge the social and cultural norms that contribute to domestic, sexual and gender-based violence (DSGBV). The core objective of the programme is to engage men and boys on the topic of DSGBV prevention and to drive positive behavioural change in Ireland, including encouraging support for gender equality, active male allyship, and increasing awareness of the pathways to support services available to those experiencing DSGBV..

The programme is lead out by Ruhama, White Ribbon Ireland and the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), with support from the Ladies Gaelic Football (LGFA) and Camogie Associations. Funding for Game Changer has been provided by Cuan under the aegis of the Department of Justice.

Ruhama (on behalf of Game Changer) seeks to engage an academic institution with demonstrated knowledge and expertise in relation to DSGBV prevention as well as a proven track record in action research as a research partner to carry out an evaluation of the programme (2024-2027). This evaluation will provide insights into the effectiveness, impact, reach and sustainability of the programme initiatives and, where appropriate, will provide actionable insights and resources for improvement and accountability. It is expected that this evaluation will be used to inform similar programmes in other sporting organisations or settings and will inform and strengthen strategic planning and delivery of community development and education initiatives and services related to DSGBV in Ireland.
