Position: Clinical Group Supervisor 

Contract: Fixed Term Special Purpose (following academic calendar)
Reports to: Head of School or their nominee
Location: Hybrid

Job Purpose

The role of the Clinical Group Supervisor is to provide 16 hours of Group supervision to students on the BSc and MSc programmes at IICP College. These hours are spread out over the academic year and consist of a blend of sessions onsite in our Tallaght Campus and online via our College Zoom Education Package.

Key responsibilities and tasks

  • Provide group supervision sessions to groups of 3-6 IICP students, consisting of approx. 8 two hour sessions spread-out between Sept/Oct and May/June of a given academic year.
  • Support and guide learners as they commence and complete clinical placement.
  • Provide verbal and written feedback to learners related to their supervision reflections and self-evaluations.
  • Liaise with college faculty and staff with regard to monitoring attendance and groups and ensuring appropriate communication.
  • Manage the tripartite relationship of student, supervisor and college.
  • Submit an end of year report for each student in the group.
  • Liaise with the Head of School and Programme Leads in relation to cyclical reviews, such as, programmatic, and institutional reviews.
  • Any other such duty commensurate with the role.

Working Relationships

The Clinical Supervisor will work closely with the Head of School and Clinical Placement Manager at IICP College.

Structure

The Clinical Group Supervisor shall report directly to the Head of School or their nominee.

Personnel Specification

The successful candidate will satisfy the following criteria:

Essential:

  • Qualified to at least:
    • Level 8 Degree (for those supervising BSc Hons students)
    • Level 9 Masters (for those supervising MSc students)
  • Hold a recognised supervision qualification.
  • Full and current supervision accreditation with IACP/IAHIP.
  • Relevant experience of providing group supervision.
  • Be available to attend onsite sessions in our Tallaght Campus.
  • Possess adequate IT skills to deliver online group supervision as part of the role.

Desirable:

  • Experience of providing group supervision in a similar higher education institute.
