Location: Castlebar base, along with travel across the county for outreach, meetings, and training

Are you a student looking to gain real-world experience in community development? We are offering a paid three-month summer work experience internship to support the development of a Traveller-focused, community-led initiative. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in community development, health promotion, social policy, or communications. Students will gain hands-on experience in various areas, including administration, research, social media, and event support.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Supporting programme administration and day-to-day tasks
• Conducting research, collecting and analysing statistics to help secure funding
• Researching additional supports and resources available
• Managing and creating content for social media and awareness campaigns
• Assisting at community events and outreach activities
• Contributing to the development of culturally appropriate messages
• Gaining insight into human rights-based approaches in community health
• Experience of community development practice

What We’re Looking For:

• Students passionate about community development, human rights and advocacy
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Good written and verbal communication
• Experience or interest in social media and public engagement
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Enthusiasm for improving health outcomes and making a real impact
