We are currently recruiting for a Psychologist (Basic Grade) for our Sligo, Leitrim & West Cavan service area.
The contract available is: Permanent, Part-Time, 21 horus contract.
Starting salary: €55,709 - DOE
Acquired Brain Injury Ireland provides community-based residential rehabilitation services for people living with a brain injury in Ireland. The role of the Basic Grade Psychologist will be to work as part of the ABI Ireland multi-disciplinary team. He/she will assume responsibility for psychological assessment and the design and provision of rehabilitation and behavioural support programmes for both residential and community based service users. He/she will also support service users through programmes delivered in conjunction with families, staff and other key stakeholders.
He/she will provide professional and clinical support to other frontline professions as appropriate and to develop new innovative responses on behalf of the Organisation to the needs of clients with acquired brain injury and their families in the general community.
Essential:
- Have a university degree or diploma (QQI Level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject.
And - Have an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical or Counselling Psychology
OR - An equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health
And - Applicants must have at least three years satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of professional psychology, inclusive of any time spent in meeting the requirements of (1) above
Desirable:
- Have experience of working with individuals with neurological and other physical and neurorehabilitation needs
- An additional relevant qualification appropriate to the designated post, e.g., Health Psychology/a specific therapeutic approach
