In association with Mayo County Council (Community & Integrated Development), South West Mayo Development Company, is inviting applications for:

Community Development Support Workers

Mayo Community Futures is inviting applications for Community Support Workers to assist communities with the preparation and development of a five-year Action Plan. The Support Worker works closely with the Community Futures Co-Ordinator and Community Development Worker, and the Community Steering Group.

Contract duration

Each Community Futures Plan is carried out over a 6-month period. The time commitment for the CSW is expected to be in the region of 40 days over that period. Hours are flexible but the CSW must be available evenings and occasionally at weekends.

Training opportunity

Suitable candidates will be trained by the Mayo Community Futures Programme.

Suitable candidate should have:

• An interest in community development and experience of working in community and voluntary organisations.
• Excellent computer skills (word, excel, teams) and have access to email
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Excellent report writing
• Good interpersonal skills
• Full driving licence
