What It Takes:

An important part of the staff role is to support the needs of individuals through the ethos and values of Praxis Care.

So the ability to be resilient, to communicate effectively and to utilise a variety of communication tools is essential.

Our dedicated staff team support our individuals to learn and develop their independence skills which includes tasks such as shopping, cleaning their flat, personal care, accessing the community, budgeting, taking medication. Each staff member has something to bring to the role and we encourage staff to use their humour and sense of fun and creativity in supporting our individuals with day to day life.

Where You Would Work: New Haven, Wexford

In our New Haven service, we have 5 individuals which are all male. Each of the 5 individuals has a tailored package to help and support them to being able to live in a residential setting. In New Haven we have a wide range of staff that helps to provide 24 hr support to each individual with an Intellectual Disability that lives in the residential home. All of our staff are involved and are required to help, support and develop the individual’s confidence and abilities to live as independently as possible. It is very important that all staff carry out their approach in a consistent and routine structure. Newhaven is a residential house situated on a large site with a garden to the back and side of the entrance. All bedrooms have their own ensuite. There are 2 communal lounges, 2 communal bathrooms as well as a large dining area. There is a large sensory room which has special lighting, music and special flooring that was designed to have a calming effect to reduce anxiety and improve focus.

Salary Details: Support Worker Full time contract available €27,990 - €38,844 per annum *

*Salary based on 39 hours per week. Salary dependent on qualification/experience. Where the role requires sleep-ins, a minimum additional payment of €101.60 per night applies*
