We are recruiting an Advocacy Manager who will be responsible for implementing the advocacy work plan in line with the organisation’s strategic objectives.

The role will be based at our National Office in Blackrock, Co Dublin but the work location can be flexible. This position reports to the Head of Advocacy, Research and Public Affairs.

This is a collaborative role, and the successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Advocacy, Research and Public Affairs on strategic planning, development, implementation and review.

In addition, they will work closely with the policy, research and communications functions in devising and implementing advocacy work plans and will work with ASI colleagues across all department and branch members and volunteers in the delivery of the work.

The Advocacy Manager will be responsible for self-advocacy development via The ASI’s two self-advocacy groups (the Irish Dementia Working Group and the Dementia Carers Campaign Network).

Collaboration is a cog in the engine of the ASI’s advocacy agenda with strong relationships being cultivated with the All-Party Oireachtas Group on Dementia, policy makers and politicians in addition to nurturing relationships with people living with dementia and their families.

To be successful in this role you will be experienced in building relationships, partnerships and working in collaboration with others in the delivery of projects and campaigns to deliver strategic goals. You will be a strategic thinker and have the creative ability to devise and implement advocacy campaigns.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the political system and policy making in Ireland and at European level and will hold a relevant third-level qualification.
