Senior Shift Leader – Clonakilty Family Hub

Applications are sought for the position of Senior Shift Leader for the new Family Hub service being established by Good Shepherd Cork in Clonakilty.

Good Shepherd Cork provides a range of emergency accommodation and outreach services to women, children and families who are homeless or vulnerable to homelessness. We plan to open a new family hub service in Clonakilty for families who are homeless in Cork county.

We are recruiting for an experienced social care professional as Senior Shift Leader/Social Care Leader.

The Senior Shift Leader will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of a service aimed at providing a welcoming, compassionate, and professional service to the men, women and children who stay in the family hub.

This position is permanent and will involve working approximately 39 hrs per week (rota to be confirmed). Some flexibility will be required around working hours which involves working shifts including weekends and sleepovers.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant qualification in Social Care or an appropriate equivalent
  • A minimum of four years relevant work experience
  • Experience working within homeless services.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamworking skills
  • Professional and caring approach to working with vulnerable men, women, and children.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • A genuine interest in the work of Good Shepherd Cork and commitment to our vision, mission, and values

The candidate should be compassionate and highly motivated. They should be able to provide leadership, planning and support while on shift in the family hub service to staff and residents.

The candidate will be required to demonstrate sound decision-making skills and have good interpersonal, teambuilding and supporting skills.
