Housing Support Officer (HSO) – Emergency Services

Contract details: Permanent contract, 33.5 hours on average per week.
Location: Galway City
Salary: HSE Social Care Worker 02/02/2022 scale €34,985 – €50,419

Job purpose:

To act as a key member of staff, responsible for providing key working and case management support to clients, to move them to their own home and toward independent living. To support and supervise volunteers, CE staff and others in the operation of the service. To help ensure Galway Simon Community provides high quality, effective housing support services.

Housing Support Officer (HSO) – Working across Homeless Prevention Services, and The Women & Families Service

Contract details: 2 year fixed term contract full time 37 hours per week
Location: Galway City & Surrounds
Salary: HSE Social Care Worker 02/02/2022 scale €34,985 – €50,419

Job purpose:

The provision and co-ordination of safe homeless prevention support services (Tenancy Sustainment, Rapid Prevention, Women & Families Service & Social Inclusion). The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a team, coordinating the delivery of wrap around case management supports to people at risk of homelessness and social isolation; with the aim of providing, emotional & physical safety, and housing stability; to enable sustainable independent living, the development of socially valued roles and meaningful community integration.

Social Care Internship / Student Placement (Paid)

Contract details: 1 year Fixed Term Social Care Internship.
20 hours per week on average over a 4-week rolling roster; plus 10 sleepovers over each 4-week period. Hours worked on a four-week rolling roster. Roster available upon request (example of a typical shift: 5.30/6pm until mid-night & 8-9/10am, 2-3 shifts per week including some weekends).
Location: Galway City
Salary: National minimum wage €12.70 per hour

Job purpose:

To work as part of a staff team in one of Galway Simon Community’s High Support Residential Services, gaining a full understanding of working in a live social care setting, supporting a vulnerable client cohort.
The successful candidate will act as a full member of the team, gaining practical experience to support their ongoing education, by supporting clients to develop independent living skills and social connections in the community and in turn facilitating the practical application of academic/formal learning.

Housing Support Officer (HSO) – Relief Panel

Contract details: Relief panel contract.
Location: Galway Simon Community Residential and Community Support Services
Salary: Hourly rate

Job purpose:

The Relief Worker will be engaged on the authority of the Service Manager(s) to provide short-term locum cover for planned and un-planned absences, in the supported housing and other services operated by Galway Simon Community.
