Background to the Organisation:

Yana Domestic Violence Project are advertising for a Full time (30) Sexual and Domestic Violence Support Worker position based in our Youghal and Midleton offices and covering the East Cork area. Yana have been operating a domestic violence support service in East Cork for over 5 years. We provide support by telephone, face to face appointments, outreach, accompaniments and Safehouses for clients leaving abusive relationships.

Title: Domestic Violence Support Worker

Reporting to: Project Co-ordinator
Contract: 30 hours per week
Hours: Monday - Thursday 9am-5pm
Salary: €21 per hour
Closing Date: Monday 3rd February 2025

Essential:

• Third Level qualification in Social Care, Social Work, Community Development or related services.
• Previous experience of advocacy in relation to vulnerable people or in community support services.
• Knowledge of Children First policies and practice
• Open minded and non-judgemental approach to clients
• Own Car and a full clean driving license

Desirable:

• A minimum of one years experience of working in the Domestic or Sexual Violence Services
• Understanding of abuse and the impacts on victims and children
• Trauma informed training and practice

Specific in-house training will be provided for the successful applicant in Sexual Violence, available supports and relevant local agencies and amenities.
