PACE Accommodation Services are expanding

PACE Priorswood House are looking for a Day Support Worker, a Waking Night Support Worker & Relief Staff to join their team. Work as part of a team to provide a safe and welcoming environment to residents, staff and visitors in busy transitional accommodation service for homeless males leaving prison with history of offending behaviour.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to be a member of a multi-disciplined team to support PACE service users. Priorswood House operates 24/7 – 365 Days/Year on a rotating schedule which includes weekends, waking nights and day shifts.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• In conjunction with residents and rest of the team to ensure that the house is kept to a good standard of tidiness, cleanliness and hygiene including communal areas and bathrooms. Encouraging residents to take responsibility for maintaining their own environment, and supporting them with laundry and cleaning tasks where appropriate.
• To encourage and support residents to develop skills in managing their daily living.
• To assess the needs of service users and to refer them to appropriate agencies.
• Provide key working to residents, recording this work, advocating for them and updating the line manager and the team on their progress.
• Assist residents with personal monies, service charge payments, etc. where necessary.
• Carry out project administration tasks such as upkeep of petty cash, Service User’s files, outcome star’s etc.
• Assist in managing medication and health regimes.
• Maintaining appropriate client confidentiality and follow GDPR guidelines at all times.
• Ensure that Health and Safety standards are met within the project in accordance with PACE Health and Safety policy.
• Managing risks relating to service and its residents
• Supporting residents - to maintain positive Mental Health and wellbeing.
• To work as a member of a multi-disciplined team in the best interests of the residents and report to Probation and external agencies if and when required.
• To plan and facilitate on and offsite social activities.
• To attend and participate in team meetings and staff team days.
• To participate in regular supervision and annual appraisal, and help in identifying your own job-related development and training needs.

The Successful candidate will have:

• Have at least 1 years’ experience working in the homelessness field or another suitably related area, desirably in a residential setting OR relevant qualification in the social care field, (Social care/ psychology, nursing etc) Level 5 and above.
• Having knowledge on Prison and/or the Probation Service desirable.
• Excellent planning, report writing, evaluation and computer skills.
• Experience of service user activity planning desirable.
• An understanding of enduring mental health issues and the impact it has on the individual.
• Good working knowledge of risk assessment processes.
• Be able to work as part of a team understanding the importance of team communication and listening skills.
• Have an understanding of Health and Safety and the health and safety requirements within a residential setting working.
• Flexible to work on a rotating schedule that includes weekends, overnights and day shifts
• Have a knowledge and understanding of all PACE Services.
