The Board of Directors of Moyross Development CLG invite applications for the following positions for their: Youth Diversion & Probation Projects in Moyross Youth Academy
Co-ordinator - Moyross Youth Diversion Project
The aim of the Moyross Youth Diversion Project is to meet the needs of at risk young people aged 12-18 years who are involved in or at risk of involvement in criminal or anti social behaviour. Its purpose is to engage such young people in a process of learning and development that will enable them to make positive lifestyle choices that will protect them from involvement in criminal, harmful or socially unacceptable behaviour. The Co-ordinator will be responsible for the co-ordination of the programme and will work with the existing Youth Justice Workers to plan, design, implement and evaluate programmes as part of the aims of the Youth Diversion Programme. The Co-ordinator, will work as an integral part of the Community Based Organisation (Moyross Development Company), the Project Committee and the Referrals Committee fulfilling the operational requirements as laid down by the Department of Justice.

Youth Justice / Outreach Worker – Full Time
Youth Justice / Outreach Worker – Part-Time Post
(The part-time position is for a fixed term for an initial 12 month period with the possiblility of being extended)
Céim ar Chéim - Moyross Probation Project is a community based Education & Training Project funded by the Probation Service. This is a full time education & training project addressing the needs of young offenders, youth at risk and early school leavers, through the provision of a training programme incorporating educational, personal development, creative, and physical activities. The successful candidate(s) will be involved in the support and outreach work of both day and evening programmes assisting the youth around issues affecting them.

Suitable candidates must show evidence of:
All Posts
- Third Level qualification in, Social Care, Criminal Justice, Youth Work, Formal/Informal Education or other directly related disciplines.
- Relevant experience in formal/informal education, youth work, group-work, sport &/or outdoor pursuits with a similar client group. A proven ability to engage positively with the client group and to work in a community setting
- Local Knowledge & Experience of Client Group.
- Relevant experience of youth work, group-work and facilitation skills.
- Interest in & ability to facilitate extra-curricular & outward bound activities
- Experience of project development and networking.
- A good knowledge of computer and administrative skills.
- Ability to produce quality written reports
- Full clean driving licence is essential. Mini-bus license desirable (the company can provide an ADI Instructor to facilitate achieving D1 License as part of the MYA Drivers Education Programme)
- Candidates will need to be available for day, and/or evening and weekend work and will work a time of in lieu system.
Co-ordinators Post
- Significant experience of project co-ordination or demonstrable capacity for leadership of a staff team.
- Administration skills, including, computer literacy, project planning, evaluating projects outputs, administering project systems, along with budgeting and financial reporting.
All posts are subject to Garda Vetting, reference checks, a six month probationary period, annual renewable subject to 3rd Party funding. MDC salary scale applies, including employee assistance programme. A panel will also be created for a potential future posts that may arise within the projects of Moyross Youth Academy over the next 12 months.
These positions are funded through the Department of Justice in conjunction with An Garda Síochana and the Probation Service.
