​Salary: Grade 4 salary scale: €40,498 per annum pro rata.

Hours: 37.5 standard hours (including breaks) (Flexibility Required)

Contract Status: Fixed Term for 12 months

Location: Fixed Watch House Cross, Parteen Road, Limerick.

About the service: ​

The Janus programme aims to prevent reception into care and/or to support community or foster placements. The programme also aims to support young people returning to the community from residential care/ custody.

The Janus programme covers areas Limerick City and County, Co. Clare and North Tipperary. The Programme is targeted at young people aged 8 - 17 years inclusive with the focus on maintaining or returning them to the lowest level of care possible, ideally at home. Young people may have complex additional needs such as behavioural issues, offending, self-esteem/confidence challenges and mental health issues. Through a tailored intensive one-to-one intervention, support is provided to the young person who is at high risk of reception into care or who may be returning home from a care setting. The programme is strengths based and works intensively with young people, carers, and other professionals to achieve positive , life changing outcomes. The programme also aims to develop pro-social skills and behaviours, improve community involvement, provide experiential learning opportunities, and strengthen school attendance.
