Child and Youth Social Prescriber Project Worker – Clonmel
Location: Clonmel, Co. Tipperary
Contract: Part Time (22.5 hours per week) and Fixed Term Contract
Salary: €20,805 - €32,158 (This is the pro-rated salary for 22.5 hours)

What’s the role/service?
We are looking for an experienced Child and Youth Social Prescriber Project Worker to join our Family support services team in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.
This service works directly and intensively with a number of vulnerable families in Clonmel and surrounding areas.
What will my day to day look like?
In this role, you will enhance the social and emotional development of referred children between the ages of 6 and 12 by helping them engage in hobbies and local activities that interest them. You will be responsible for the following:
- Work with children, young people, carers, and families in various settings, such as group, individual, and family sessions, as well as center-based and outreach work.
- Effectively communicate with families and other statutory, community, and volunteer bodies, and participate in reviews and case conferences as needed.
- Identifying and documenting to the line manager any unmet needs of children / young people / carers / families within the service and to participate in the advocacy work of the agency.
What experience do I need?
- A minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience of working with vulnerable children and families.
- Experience of working in partnership with families and carers and other services and community groups.
- Experience of planning, implementing and reviewing programmes with children and / or families.
Do I need a qualification?
Yes, to be considered for this role you will hold a recognised third level practice qualification (minimum Level 7 on the QQI) in one of the following:
- Social Care / Education / Social Work / Youth Work / Early Childhood Care and Education or related discipline (Nursing, Psychology, Early Years’ Education).
Note: this list can be varied depending on the specific requests of the post.
Additional information:
- Please note this is a pilot programme for a twelve-month period.
- A full driving licence and access to the use of a suitably insured vehicle essential.
The post-holder is initially assigned to work in the Clonmel Family Support Project but may be required in the future to work in other locations in the area in line with organisational needs.
