About us

Meath Springboard Family Support Services provide a range of services to support children and adults in the parenting role. We are a registered charity and our work is funded primarily by Tusla the Child and Family Agency.

The Child Contact Service offer a welcoming space for children to nurture and/or re-establish contact with a parent or other significant adult to the child. The children attending access may be living with a parent, an extended family member or foster carer. The Service provides children with the opportunity to spend quality time with their parents and/or relatives in a safe, neutral space.

The Tailored Programs of Family Support work with adults to strengthen their parenting capacity and thus improve the lives of the parents children.

Brief details of position

Child Contact & Family Support Worker (19hrs per wk).
Hours of work will be between 9-5pm over 3 consecutive days between Wed and Saturday each week. (Regular Saturday working is part of the post)

Full B driving license is required for the post.

Main responsibilities

• Supervision of contact between children and their parents, siblings or other significant person.
• Provide support to children and parents to engage positively in access sessions.
• Delivery of tailored programs of Family Support to children with identified child protection and or welfare concerns.
• Maintain records on service delivery.

Education requirements

• A recognised third level qualification (FETAC Level 7 or above) in one of the following:
  Social Care, Child Care, Social Work or Youth Work

Excellent observational, IT and report writing skills essential.

Remuneration
Social Care Worker Pay grade Pt 1-3 on entry subject to experience. (€38,450 to €41,891 pro rata for 19 hrs per week.)
