Introduction

Meath Women’s Refuge and Support Services (MWRSS) provide a wide range of support and crisis services, including refuge accommodation to women and children who have experienced domestic violence in Co. Meath. Our organisation was founded in 1987 and we have expanded our work over the intervening years to include outreach services, court accompaniment, therapeutic supports, and a children and young person’s programme.

We are currently seeking applications for the following position:

Full-time Children’s Support Worker- Refuge, 
specified purpose contract covering Maternity Leave

This work will take place under our evaluated model of work for children in refuge. It will involve supporting children with the transition into refuge by providing a safe space through play and other creative activities. Each child will have the right to participate in a support plan that represents their overall needs while in refuge. This role will also support mothers with parenting after domestic violence and other supports related to their children. The role will support the transition out of refuge and link them into our community children’s programme and external agencies where required.

Number of Hours: 37 hours per week Monday to Friday. Start times will be 10am to 6pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 10am-7pm Tuesday and 10am-4:30pm Friday (30-minute lunch break included). Flexible working will be required and a TOIL policy is in place.

Fixed Term Contract: Full-time, specified purpose contract covering Maternity Leave

Start Date: 16th of December 2024 and contract will run until the 25th of July 2025.

Salary: €40,769 (Point one on MWRSS Salary Scale)
