Youth Work Ireland Midlands invites applicants for

Community Employment Supervisor (39 hours Full Time)

Youth Work Ireland Midlands Community Employment (CE) Project is funded under the Department of Social Protection (DSP), with its participants supporting the work of the various Youth and Community projects across Westmeath, Offaly and Laois. This is an employment support programme providing work experience, training and up/reskilling to those participating on the programme, whilst also providing valuable services to the community.

The successful candidate will ensure the effective and efficient direction of the human, financial and material resources of the Community Employment Programme, thereby ensuring that the programme is managed in accordance with all Department of Social Protection (DSP) guidelines and is of maximum benefit to both participants and the organisation.

The day-to-day running of the Community Employment (CE) Scheme, with a base in Mullingar or Tullamore will require assisting in the supervision of a varied team of 30 CE participants operating in a variety of roles supporting youth and community groups in Mullingar, Athlone Portlaoise and Tullamore.

Candidates must have attained a 3rd level qualification (NFQ Level 6 or higher) in either Business/Financial Administration, Training, Human Resources, Community Development or Supervisory Management (not only Social Studies, while this may be part of qualifications). Applicants should have a strong knowledge and understanding of Community Employment.

Requirement for at least 3 years demonstrable supervisory experience, facilitation or training experience highly desirable and strong ICT skills are essential (e.g. MS Office). Own transport is a requirement, as this role is multi location.

Remuneration:

The salary scale for this post is in line with the Department of Social Protection scale for CE Supervisor on a scheme of 15 or more participants. This position will be awarded a salary at Pt. 1 of the scale - €34,942.44 per annum

Number of Positions:

There is currently one position available. A panel may be formed whereby applicants may be considered for future Community Employment supervisory positions that could arise within Youth Work Ireland Midlands.
