AFTERSCHOOL SUPERVISOR

(28 hours per week – Fixed Term Contract)

Sligo Social Services is seeking to recruit an experienced enthusiastic and dynamic person to take on the role of Afterschool Supervisor based at Sligo Social Services Afterschool, St. Edwards National School, Clarion Road, Ballytivnan, Sligo.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• QQI Level 7 or 8 in Early Childhood Studies (however we will consider candidates who hold a QQI Level 6 and have additional years’ work experience to that listed below)
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a childcare setting at least one of which deputising or acting in a management role
• A sincere and genuine interest in the welfare and education and care of children
• Working knowledge of all reporting requirements.
• Working Knowledge of Child Protection and welfare guidelines

Key Skills and Experience Required:

• Management of Staff
• Managing budgets
• Working knowledge of reporting requirements
• Understanding the government and statutory requirements associated with the childcare industry
• Building positive relationships with families/ caregivers, staff, external agencies and members of the community
