One day a week Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist/specialising in play based in Santry, Dublin. 

At CARI, our dedicated team help children and families every day.

CARI is a registered charity founded in 1989 and is currently the leading provider of professional, child centred therapy services to children, families and groups who have been affected by child sexual abuse. CARI’s therapy services provide therapy to children 18 and under who have been affected by sexual abuse and children aged 12 and under who present with sexually harmful behaviour.

Part Time Therapy Team Leader

Roles and Responsibilities: 

The role of the Therapy Team Leader is

  • To manage therapists in the centre allocated to them
  • To oversee therapy and clinical issues that may arise
  • To ensure quality in service delivery and consistency in approach
  • To promote and maintain the ethos of CARI which is rooted in compassion and care for children and parents’ impact by child sexual abuse
  • To ensure best practice in clinical governance
  • To support access to the service in line with our service model
  • Ensuring that risk management strategies are implemented and reviewed as needed
  • Making sure all clinical work in CARI adheres to code and ethics of CARI, accrediting bodies, and Children First Guidelines

The ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience of providing therapy to children, adults, and families.
  • Primary or higher degree in related discipline.
  • Recognized therapy qualification.
  • Knowledge of Children First Guidance.
  • Ability to work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team.
  • Management experience is essential

One day a week Psychotherapist Role:

The role involves the provision of therapy to children and adolescents affected by child sexual abuse. The role also includes therapeutic interventions with parents or carers of the young person through co-working with other members of the therapy team. Previous experience of working therapeutically with children is vital, as is an ability to work within a team environment. Reporting directly to the Therapy Team Leader, to ensure quality in service delivery and consistency in approach. Individual and group supervision will be provided.

The ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience of providing psychotherapy to children, adults, and families.
  • Primary or higher degree in related discipline.
  • Recognized psychotherapy qualification and accreditation
  • Knowledge of Children First Guidance.
  • Ability to work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team.
