Crinan Youth Project: Therapist (Part Time)
Crinan Youth Project, is a drug treatment programme for 14-21 year olds with drug and/or alcohol problems. Working from a social change model and through the use of ACRA (adolescent community reinforcement approach) to empower young people to address their substance use and change their lifestyle. Crinan Youth Project is based in the North Inner City and we are seeking to employ a skilled, dynamic worker for the following post:
THERAPIST
TO WORK WITH YOUNG PEOPLE – Part-time 17.5 hours
The person we are seeking will be enthusiastic, highly motivated and will have the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a community based project.
The main tasks include:
- Carrying out therapy/counselling assessments with young people
- Providing counselling and therapy to young people with substance use/misuse
- Facilitate sessions with individuals, groups or families
- Referrals to residential detox/treatment programmes
- Out of hours/evening work
- Creating a supportive environment
- Attendance at clinical team meetings
- Maintaining records – computerised and report writing
Essential:
- Minimum of BA in Counselling & Psychotherapy
- Fully accredited member of relevant Counselling/Psychotherapy accrediting body
- Minimum of 3 years post-accreditation professional counselling/psychotherapy work
- Experience of working with young people under 18 years.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable:
- Knowledge of substance misuse, working with adolescents, group facilitation skills
Salary: 12 point scale €21,205 - €31,488. (commensurate upon experience).
