Oasis House Women’s Refuge: Senior Refuge Worker
Oasis House Women’s Refuge is a long-established community service based in Waterford City. It provides a service sensitive to the needs of women and women with their children experiencing domestic violence.

Oasis House is currently recruiting for the following position:
Senior Refuge Worker
Reporting to: Manager
Location: Waterford City
Hours: 36 hours per week
Closing date: 5pm on 08th May 2025
Minimum Experience & Educational Requirements:
- Level 8 degree in Applied Social Studies in Social Care or other relevant qualification. The appointee must hold a recognised qualification and register if applicable as a Social Care Worker according to CORU registration requirements November 2025.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience with minimum one year of experience in a supervisory/management role.
Job Purpose
The Senior Refuge Worker will support the Management team in leading and managing the Refuge Service which operates the 24/7 crisis accommodation service, Safe House accommodation, 24/7 Helpline, Drop-in support and information service and Child, Youth and Family Support service. They will work directly with Management in ensuring the safety & well-being of clients and staff at all times and to ensure the smooth & safe running of the Refuge, ensuring that the highest possible standards of support and care are maintained at all times.
A full driving licence is desirable.
Appointments subject to evidence of educational qualifications, two satisfactory written references and up to date Garda vetting.
