Motor Vehicle Tutor

Job Type: Fulltime - 35 hours per week – Monday to Friday

At Sligo Community Training Centre we provide training and education to young, unemployed people and early school leavers aged 16-21.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced mechanic to join our team as a Tutor. As a Motor Vehicle tutor, you will be working with individual learners and small groups facilitating workshop delivery, developing learners’ practical abilities and working in the classroom to support learners in completing module work.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Delivering engaging and effective lessons on motor vehicle mechanics and related topics
• Preparing lesson plans and instructional materials that are tailored to meet the needs of individual learners.
• Developing and implementing effective teaching strategies to improve learner performance and outcomes.
• Assessing learner progress and providing feedback to help learners improve their understanding of the subject matter.
• Maintaining accurate records of learner progress and achievement
• Collaborating with other tutors and staff members to ensure a positive learning environment for all learners.

Qualifications and Experience

• A relevant vocational qualification in motor vehicle mechanics or a related subject
• A recognised training qualification (QQI Train the trainer)
• Leaving Certificate or equivalent (preferred)
• Teaching: 1 year (preferred)
• Mechanic: 5 years (preferred)
• Youth work: 1 year (preferred)

2 year fixed term contract

Salary €33,254 - €59,330
