Foróige is the National Youth Development Organisation, which promotes and fosters youth development through the operation of various youth services in urban and rural areas throughout the country. Foróige is currently recruiting for the following position:

Senior Youth Officer(Part Time)

Project Summary

The successful candidate will be employed by Foróige as Senior Youth Officer, Part-Time for 21 hours per week. They will work in partnership with the current Senior Youth Officer. The Midlands Integrated Youth & Family Project is provided by Foróige, in partnership with Tusla. The service offers structured support to identified at-risk young people and families within the Tusla Midlands area covering the counties of Laois, Offaly, Longford and Westmeath.

The successful applicant will have the following essential requirements;

  • Education to National Degree standard, Level 7 on the NQF.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Foróige’s philosophy and approach to youth work and engaging young people and families.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience of working with young people experiencing adversity in their lives and planning interventions in order to achieve the best possible outcomes with the young person and their family.
  • Experience working with families and parents in particular in delivering parenting and whole family programmes
  • A good knowledge and understanding of Tusla’s National Policy Framework for Children and Young People, Tusla's National Service Delivery Framework including Tusla’s National Practice Model for Children and Young people.
  • Experience in establishing, leading and coordinating new and innovative responses to youth needs.
  • Ability to work in an efficient manner and to lead and motivate others.
  • Car owner with full driving licence.
