The Person

Liffey Area Partnership is seeking to appoint to our team a person with a passion for and expertise in supporting people in recovery from drug or alcohol issues to engage in employment, education or training.

This person will likely be an individual with experience in supporting individuals to build recovery capital. The successful candidate will have a clear understanding of supporting groups and individuals to enhance their employability through a range of individual and group-based activities supported by personal progression plans. The primary focus will be on men and women who are drug free and need support to take up opportunities in education, training and employment.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with people experiencing barriers to employment and will have a broad understanding of the range of issues which can impact on individuals with a history of problematic drug or alcohol use. This person will be a self-starter with a strong ability to work on their own initiative, but to be equally able to work as part of a team and to incorporate feedback and consultation in their everyday work.

The post holder will require excellent interpersonal skills and will be engaged in constructively developing relationships with a wide cohort of stakeholders including project funders (DSP), employers and addiction services and other relevant agencies across the Dublin region. They will be aware of the social environments of disadvantaged areas of Dublin as well as be conscious of the additional requirements associated with working with statutory agencies and the protection of public funds. They will be required to understand accept and promote the ethos the company as well as its remit to deliver the highest possible standard of service to its clients and the local community.
