Family Carers Ireland (FCI) is the national charity supporting family carers across the country who dedicate their lives to caring for loved ones such as children or adults with physical or intellectual disabilities, frail older people,those with palliative care needs or those living with chronic illnesses or addiction. We provide a range of supports and services for family carers nationally from our local support centres.

JOB SUMMARY

Family Carers Ireland is recruiting a HR Manager (Maternity Cover) reporting to the Head of Corporate Services. The HR Manager at Family Carers Ireland will be responsible for the delivery of strategic and operational HR within the Organisation ensuring legislation, regulations and best practice are complied with.The role is critical in driving continuous improvement across the Organisation in regard to HR and supporting managers in integrating HR best practice. This key position is part of the Senior Management Team (SMT).

ROLE CRITERIA

The successful candidate should possess the following criteria:

  • Degree or Masters level qualification in HR, Business Studies, Management, Commerce or Psychology and CIPD membership. 
  • A minimum of five (5) years proven experience in HR. Experience operating at a senior level is desirable. 
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of HR legislation/employment law, principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Provision of HR support to a multi-location environment.
  • Change management experience.
  • Strong recruitment experience.
  • Ability to evaluate training needs and implement development programmes. 
  • Be fully IT proficient particularly in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and other relevant IT systems.Experience using HR Locker, OneTouch, Eloomi and/ or ViClarity is desirable.
  • Have a proactive and strong work ethic with excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, conflict management, influencing and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to project manage high level tasks.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work within a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail is essential.
  • Can work in a dynamic, challenging and sometimes physically remote environment.
  • Be able to demonstrate strong cross-functional teamwork skills.
  • Be capable of working independently, managing own workload and reporting on progress in an effective manner. 
  • Demonstrate an ability to work under pressure and make clear and quick decisions.
  • Full driving licence and access to own vehicle.

Terms & Conditions: 

Specified purpose contract, full time role (37 hours per week across Monday – Friday). The HR team currently work a hybrid model with flexibility to work from home 2-3 days per week. The HR team typically work from the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with Wednesdays a core office day for the wider Corporate Services team.
