Carlow Youth Training: Instructor (15 Hours)

CARLOW YOUTH TRAINING CLG:

Carlow Youth Training (CYT) is a Community Training Centre (CTC) which, in association with Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board (KCETB), provides vocational, educational and life skills training through a learner centred approach to early school leavers (16-21 years). Our courses are designed to enable the learner to reach their full potential at their own pace. Our learners are supported to achieve new skills as well as the certification necessary for progression into employment, further training or continued education. The role of CTC Instructor responds to learner needs through the provision of flexible training options, which ultimately supports their move into the workplace, or further learning environments.

The Board of CYT invites applications from enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals for the part time position of:

Instructor (15 hours)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Literacy and Numeracy support to learners.
  • Deliver training programmes and QQI certification at Level 3 & 4.
  • Prepare appropriate course materials and activities to meet the specific needs of learners.
  • Support the educational and personal development of learners.
  • Perform other relevant duties as appropriate.

Applicants should have:

  • A recognised 3rd Level qualification in education, training or relevant field and a relevant education/training qualification, e.g. Train the Trainer.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in training, education and/or working with young people.
  • Knowledge of FET and the delivery of QQI modules at NFQ Level 3 & 4
  • Strong IT, communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A learner-centred approach and a capacity to provide guidance to learners.

Salary Scale: The salary scale associated with the post is the nationally agreed scale in the range of €33,254 to €59,330 (pro rata) including two long service increments.
