Community Food & Nutrition Project Worker - The Person
The Liffey Area Partnership CLG is seeking to appoint to our team a person with a passion for health equality with a particular focus on food and nutrition and the capacity to engage effectively with communities experiencing marginalisation and disadvantage. The purpose of the post is to provide capacity for Liffey Area Partnership CLG (working within the Sláintecare Healthy Communities initiative) to improve community health and wellbeing in the Cherry Orchard and wider ‘Ballyfermot areas by addressing the issues of food poverty.
The successful candidate will be passionate about working with individuals to support behaviour change and promote health and wellbeing. They will have a third level qualification (minimum QQI Level 8) in a related discipline (e.g., Health Promotion, Public Health, Nutrition, Dietetics etc) and a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a related role.
The successful candidate will have good research skills and experience of providing support and mentoring in a community context as well as experience of organising, delivering and evaluating workshops and community programmes. The person will have the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team as well as ability to work on own initiative. They will have excellent interpersonal skills, including in written and verbal communication. They will be aware of the social environments of D10 area of Dublin as well as be conscious of the additional requirements associated with working with statutory agencies and the protection of public funds. They will be required to understand accept and promote the social inclusion ethos of the company as well as its remit to deliver the highest possible standard of service to its clients and the local community.
