Successful candidates will be selected in accordance with their panel ranking and geographic location as determined by the operational needs of the organisation.

Background Information on organisation:

The Health Information and Quality Authority is an independent authority established to drive high-quality and safe care for people using our health and social care services in Ireland.

HIQA’s mandate to date extends across a specified range of public, private and voluntary sector services. Reporting to the Minister for Health and engaging with the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth Affairs, HIQA’s role is to develop standards, inspect and review health and social care services and support informed decisions on how services are delivered.

The role: 

The successful candidate will join the Children’s team within the Regulation Directorate. The children’s team regulates, monitors and inspects the following services:

  • special care units,
  • statutory and non-statutory foster care services,
  • statutory children’s residential centres,
  • child protection and welfare services,
  • and the children’s detention campus.

The role as advertised will carry out all regulatory activities in accordance with HIQA’s policies, processes and procedures to determine compliance with legislation and national standards, report publicly on findings and respond appropriately

Salary: €72,511 (Engineer Grade II, Point 1)
