Brothers of Charity Services Ireland are looking for bright, ambitious individuals who have a positive attitude towards working with people with an intellectual disability and who are committed to ensuring that our persons supported lead as fulfilling and enjoyable a life as possible.
We provide a variety of services and supports to approximately 7,000 people with an intellectual disability or autism, and their families, throughout Counties Clare, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Limerick, Roscommon, Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford.
Our residential, respite, day, host family and home-based Services are provided by approximately 5,000 staff with a variety of professional backgrounds and experience. Staff are motivated in their work by the Ethos, Vision and Values of the Brothers of Charity Services.
We work in partnership with local communities, state agencies and voluntary organisations to initiate and develop inclusive opportunities for, and with, the people supported by the Brothers of Charity Services.

The role of a Social Care Worker
Social Care Workers fulfil a key supportive and advocative role for individuals supported by the service. The Social Care Worker’s role is to support the person in all aspects of their life focusing on the individual's ability and promoting independence and development of skills. They assist in all aspects of the practical tasks associated with the daily life of the person supported either in their home or within a day service setting. The Social Care Worker will assist and support people who use the service with the development of their individual person centred plan and the achievement of associated outcomes, and critically, will support people who use the service to make informed choices and fulfil their potential. They will encourage participation in the community through inclusive and creative thinking, seek opportunities for new experiences and help individuals make their own, informed choices.
