The Role: Senior Development Officer

Contract: Permanent Contract 
Location: Hybrid, Tallaght 
Reporting to: Head of Development 
Probation: 6 months 
Hours: 37 hours per week over 5 days 
Leave: 25 days
Salary: €45k-€52k commensurate with experience
Pension: Available immediately.

Responsibilities;

The Senior Development Officer plays a crucial role in implementing the housing development strategy.

Here are the key tasks:

Project and Transaction Management:

• Support the Head of Development and Senior Management Team. 
• Liaise with Local Authority personnel, developers, estate agents, designers, and cost consultants.
• Assess housing development options and feasibility

Site Identification and Acquisition 

• Identify potential development sites. 
• Prepare economic appraisals for review.
• Stay informed about property costs, availability, and market trends.

Due Diligence and Project Management:

• Assist with due diligence for acquisitions and new developments. 
• Represent the company in meetings with housing providers and contractors.
• Lead on acquisition, leasing, and turnkey schemes.

Compliance and Reporting:

• Ensure compliance with regulations and funding requirements. 
• Develop business cases for management and board consideration. 
• Monitor project budgets and expenditures.

The Company

Saint John of God Housing Association (SJOG HA) is the largest specialist housing association providing homes for people with learning difficulties, mental health issues and other needs. We operate over 450 units of accommodation across the country. We are a small team, meeting very specific needs through relationships with Saint John of God Community Services, Local Authorities and the Department of Housing.
