We are now recruiting:

Community Prison Link Worker

The role of the Community Prison Links Worker is to support individuals affected by addiction within the prison system, supporting their transition back into their community. This position is a full time position (35 hours per week). The candidate will be working both in the community and prison setting. Garda Vetting and Prison Clearance will apply.

Essential Criteria:

  • Have a minimum Level 7 qualification in addiction studies, social science or other relevant disciplines.
  • Computer literate and administration skills.
  • A self-starter with excellent communication, listening and networking skills.
  • A full driving license and access to the use of a suitably insured car.
  • Maintain professional relationships and appropriate levels of confidentiality of information.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and ensure that your role and remit is made clear to all individuals you engage with.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system / Irish Prison Service
  • Experience of working with offenders / ex-offenders, substance misusers.
  • Experience of addiction Work including one to one work, family / group work.
  • Experience of working within a Community Development model
  • Counselling skills / Facilitation skills
