Youngballymun (YB), along with our partners, implements a strategy of integrated, evidence-based supports for children, young people and families. YB is part of the Area Based Childhood (ABC) Programme, which is a prevention and early intervention programme that seeks to invest in effective services that improve outcomes for children and families living in areas of disadvantage. It has a particular emphasis on improving health, educational and social outcomes for children and young people, and on improving the effectiveness of existing services for them.

Youngballymun is looking to employ an Infant Mental Health Co-ordinator to work on our Infant Mental Health (IMH) Programme. We are looking for an experienced, energetic, confident and pro-active individual with excellent written, verbal and inter-personal communication skills and with the ability to work independently and show initiative.

The post is for 28 hours per week

Key areas of work include:

  • Working with the YB team in planning and delivery of the Youngballymun programme.
  • Working with partners to develop and deliver capacity building of staff from HSE, Tusla and other ABC areas through delivery of IMH Masterclass and workshops.
  • Actively promoting and supporting the engagement of community members to Youngballymun Programmes.
  • Working directly with parents and caregivers.
  • Reporting on and documenting work as it is progressed.
  • Delivering high quality, tailored interventions in Infant Mental Health attachment-based approaches to parents and carers, e.g. Newborn Behaviour Observation (NBO), Circle of Security Parenting Programme (COS) , Baby Massage, one-to-one therapeutic home visiting.
  • Developing strategies within the organisation and community regarding Adverse Childhood experiences and Trauma informed work.

Essential Criteria:

  • Recognised third level qualification
  • At least 5 years’ experience or involvement in the field of Infant Mental Health
  • Experience of working with families with trauma and complex needs.
  • Experience of delivering evidence based group interventions.
  • Experience of delivery of training to practitioners.
