Legal Officer
Community Law & Mediation (CLM) is one of the leading independent law centres in Ireland. Our legal team has represented clients for nearly 50 years in some of the ground-breaking human rights cases in Ireland.
We now wish to recruit a Legal Officer to support the work of CLM’s legal team.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity for someone seeking experience in public interest and human rights law. Specifically, the Legal Officer will play an important role in supporting the legal team to provide legal advice and representation to clients in the area of social housing, social welfare, employment and equality cases.
About CLM
Community Law & Mediation (CLM) is a community based, independent law centre and charity providing services nationwide and operating in two locations: Dublin and Limerick. It was founded in 1975 and assists almost 6,000 people/issues annually through its services, which include free legal advice and representation; information and education; and mediation and conflict coaching. CLM also campaigns for law reform, and for the safeguarding of rights already enshrined in law.

Further information
The role of Legal Officer has a start date of the 2 September 2024 (or as soon as possible thereafter). This is a 4 day week job and CLM is flexible as to how these hours are worked. The position is fixed term (2 years), though it is hoped to secure sufficient funding to enable the role to be full time (5 days per week) and longer term.
Salary details are available on request and the direct line report is to the Housing and Social Welfare Solicitor.
