About the job

The Outreach, Prevention and Training Manager is a key Senior Management Team member reporting to the Director of Services. This role provides strategic leadership and management oversight to safeguard quality service delivery to our clients and their families.

The purpose of the role is to manage the Outreach, Prevention and Training department for Saoirse Domestic Violence Services (SDVS) across all its sites. To oversee and maximise the reach and impact of SDVS Domestic Violence and Abuse Awareness Training modules and learning platforms. The Outreach, Prevention and Training Team support clients living with domestic violence at a safe and suitable location by providing emotional support around their experiences of domestic violence and facilitating their consideration of their options for a safer future whether that is to remain safely in their own homes or seek supports to leave the relationship. The team also provides a post-refuge service to residents who return home or to residents who relocate, supports families who move to our safe houses, and links former residents with appropriate local community support agencies.

This role requires a highly motivated, exceptional individual who wants to make a difference. You will have proven experience in managing and motivating staff as well as strong interpersonal and management skills. You must also have a deep grounded analysis of Domestic Sexual and Gender-Based Violence and experience working in a senior management role within the DSGBV sector. You will have proven experience in networking and establishing relationships with agencies and key professionals, as well as developing services. A level 9 recognised social care or management qualification or equivalent is desirable.

Outreach, Prevention and Training Manager Duties include:

  • Lead and manage SDVS Outreach Prevention and Training (OPT) Department to women and children to the highest level of quality, efficiency, effectiveness and accountability working closely with the other senior managers of each core pillar.
  • Ensure the delivery of best practice models of service across the department to ensure they remain needs-led, and outcomes-focused.
  • Ensure all aspects of service provision are delivered in line with best practice and budget, and promptly report any significant deviations to the DOS.
  • To support the development and delivery of high-quality training programmes, seminars and events.
  • Develop and manage the delivery of accredited training that is in line with organisational practice.
  • To manage and provide oversight of CRM eSafe.
  • Ensure the effective use of internal quantitative and qualitative data to inform operational oversight and management of the OPT department.
  • To be responsible for the supervision and support of the Outreach and Court Accompaniment Team. To represent the work and ethos of Saoirse Domestic Violence Services professionally and respectfully.

About you

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of Senior management experience in staff and front-line service provision.
  • A relevant 3rd level qualification in Social Work/Care or related field.
  • To have at least 5 years of experience working with victims of domestic abuse.
  • Demonstrable experience in supervising and supporting staff working with adults, children and young people.
  • Experience in managing a support service for people with complex needs.
  • Experience in crisis management.
  • Experience working in supported residential and community services.
  • Ability to manage, support and motivate staff, and to delegate responsibility appropriately.
  • Thorough understanding of the dynamics and impact of domestic violence and abuse Thorough knowledge of procedures and practices relating to the Safeguarding of Children and Young People.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload with minimal supervision, and take initiative in problem-solving.
  • Understanding of risk and needs assessment and of the principles of risk management.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: €62,414
  • Location: Dublin
  • Pension: 7% employer’s contribution through our Pension Scheme following successful completion of probation.
  • Annual leave/Public Holidays: Entitled to 30 days annual leave exclusive of public holidays. Opportunity to purchase additional Annual Leave.
  • Paid Sick leave: Following successful completion of probation.
  • Paid Maternity leave: SDVS pay full salary (less Social Welfare benefits) for the period of the 26 weeks basic maternity leave (subject to 1+ year service).

Saoirse Domestic Violence Services (SDVS) provides a range of support and accommodation services across South West Dublin and West Wicklow including a 24-hour helpline, safe refuge accommodation, safe house accommodation, children’s support services, community outreach support and court accompaniment.   • Providing accommodation and specialist domestic violence support services to families.
  • Working with communities to educate and challenge attitudes to domestic violence through prevention and awareness raising.
  • Campaigning and advocating for social change, legislation and government policy.
