Crinan Youth Project, is a drug treatment programme for 14-21 year olds with drug and/or alcohol problems. Working from a social change model and through the use of ACRA (adolescent community reinforcement approach) to empower young people to address their substance use and change their lifestyle. Crinan Youth Project is seeking to employ skilled, dynamic workers for the following posts:

FAMILY THERAPIST – Part-time 17.5 hours

The person we are seeking will be enthusiastic, highly motivated and will have the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a community based drug/alcohol project.

  • To provide Family Therapy, to parents, individuals, couples and families of young people with substance use issues
  • To work in collaboration with the Crinan Family Support Worker
  • Develop and facilitate psycho-educational groups/support groups for parents
  • Family support outreach/home visits
  • Maintaining records - computerised, report writing and administrative duties relating to the role
  • Attending weekly/monthly clinical meetings and team meetings

Essential:

Minimum Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy, 2 years post-accredited experience of working as a therapist. The family therapist will have completed Family Therapy training on an FTAI approved programme. The family therapist will also need to be registered or be in the process of registering with FTAI (Family Therapy Association of Ireland).

Desirable: 

FTAI accredited, Knowledge of CRAFT/5 Step method/ACRA an advantage.

Salary: 

Is in line with HSE scale for Senior Addiction Counsellor – 17.5 hours pw.
