FamiliBase are seeking to recruit a full time (35 hours) Child and Family Worker.

FamiliBase is a centre for children, young people and families based in Dublin 10. FamiliBase has three strands of service delivery i.e. Early Years and Afterschool, Child and Family and Youth and Community. FamiliBase operates an integrated model of practice. Programme delivery in FamiliBase occurs at different levels i.e. from universal level to intensive wrap around for those with multiple or more complex needs. FamiliBase could be described as a ‘one stop shop’ of supports for children, young people and families.

Job Description

  • Work with a caseload of families impacted by Hidden Harm.
  • Carry out a strength and needs assessment of each family and implement a care plan in collaboration with the family and external stakeholders.
  • Provide a wraparound of supports to the families on your case load to include home visiting, assertive outreach and one to one work with children and young people and families.
  • Facilitate Evidence Based Parenting Programmes and Attachment and Resilience Programmes for children and young people in line with annual service delivery plan.

Essential Criteria

  • A relevant qualification e.g. minimum Level 7 in Social Care, Community Development, Early Childhood Care and Education, Social Work, Youth Work or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years post qualification experience of working directly with families impacted by Hidden Harm or complex needs.
  • Extensive understanding and experience of planning and delivering programmes in a community context of parental mental health and substance misuse.
  • Experience of lone working with children and young people in a community context.
  • Trauma informed practice in designing, developing, and facilitating targeted programmes for children, young people and families.
  • Experience of working with and responding effectively to childhood trauma and trauma response.
  • High levels of confidence and excellent relationship management skills.
  • A high level of ICT literacy including a proven ability to apply technology in the workplace.
  • High ethical standards with strong integrity.

HSE Social Care Worker scale. Point allocated will be dependent on experience.
