Treo now wishes to recruit a full-time Outreach Worker for its operations in Waterford City.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to be part of an experienced and dedicated multi-disciplinary team. The Outreach/Link Worker will have a varied and dynamic workload.

The Outreach Worker will be expected to use and develop an expertise, over time in a range of proven approaches i.e. Restorative Practice, Restorative Justice, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Approaches, and Trauma Informed.

This will become a pensionable position after a probationary period. Treo Port Lairge has a lifelong learning commitment to staff providing Continuing Professional Development opportunities.
Professional Supervision and Reflective practice will be provided.

Applicants must possess:

  • A National Diploma in Applied Social Care Studies or equivalent qualification.
  • 3 years post-qualification experience with a similar target client group.
  • Experience in working with behaviours that may challenge and supporting care-staff in similar environments
  • An ability to communicate efficacy and to bring about behavioral change.
  • An understanding of the opportunities for individuals furthest away from the labour market.
  • A strong work ethic.
  • Experience in recording, reporting and information management
  • Previous experience in key working and relationship building.

Applicants must have the ability to demonstrate:

  • Networking and linking with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • A knowledge and understanding of relevant Government policy on criminal justice.
  • A thorough knowledge of the principles of Social Care / Community Work
  • A knowledge of the principles of Motivational Interviewing, Restorative Practices, and Trauma Informed Care.
  • A focus on Outcomes and progression.

  • Excellent reporting skills- the ability to provide concise and relevant reports regarding clients, staff or service development
  • Flexible, open to new ways of working
  • Ability to stay calm, objective, fair, independent, and confident in challenging situations.

The successful candidate will also need access to a car to perform their duties.
