Brothers of Charity Services Ireland are looking for bright, ambitious individuals who have a positive attitude towards working with people with an intellectual disability and who are committed to ensuring that our persons supported lead as fulfilling and enjoyable a life as possible.

We provide a variety of services and supports to approximately 7,000 people with an intellectual disability or autism, and their families, throughout Counties Clare, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Limerick, Roscommon, Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford.

Our residential, respite, day, host family and home-based Services are provided by approximately 5,000 staff with a variety of professional backgrounds and experience. Staff are motivated in their work by the Ethos, Vision and Values of the Brothers of Charity Services.

We work in partnership with local communities, state agencies and voluntary organisations to initiate and develop inclusive opportunities for, and with, the people supported by the Brothers of Charity Services.

The role of a Support Worker

Support Workers provide a key-working caring role for a group of People Supported by the Services. They are responsible for all aspects of personal care required during the day. This includes meals, personal hygiene and other related aspects of physical well-being. Secondly, a major focus of the Support Worker role is to assist and support People Supported by the Services with the development of their Individual Plans and achievement of associated outcomes. In addition, a critical component of this role is to support People Supported by the Services in community participation and integration.
